When buying paint, you will find two grades: student and artist.
The cost difference will be significant, but while starting, I think that student-quality paints like Schminke for Students or Winsor & Newton should be sufficient.
Some paints have the word 'hue' following their name. 'Cadmium red hue' looks like cadmium red but is made from cheaper, weaker pigments.
This is why professional artists would prefer luxury paints, like cadmium colors. It's more about using the paint to its fullest potential without worrying about the quality.
