MAGDALENA CARMEN FRIDA KAHLO CLADERÓN
(1907-1954)
Frida Kahlo's full name was Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón.
She was a Mexican artist and painter known for her many portraits, self-portraits, and artworks motivated by nature and relics of Mexico.
Supposedly, she died from a pulmonary embolism. Some researchers suggest Frida might have killed herself through suicide or overdose.
A couple of days before her death, she noted in her diary: "I hope the exit is joyful — and I hope never to return — Frida".
Frida Kahlo was recognized for relentless and brightly colored self-portraits that explored subjects such as identity, the human body, and death.
She is repeatedly recognized as a Surrealist. However, Frida Kahlo herself denied that connection.
FAMOUS QUOTES FROM CASPAR DAVID FRIEDRICH:“I don't paint dreams or nightmares, I paint my own reality.” “I paint flowers so they will not die.” “I paint myself because I am so often alone and because I am the subject I know best.”
