Erwin Wurm is a well-known artist who has been exhibiting his quirky and wonderful artwork since the 70s. Born in Bruck an der Mur, she studied at Vienna's Academy of Applied Arts before going on to study at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

The project requires minimal material and is meant to provoke questions about definitions of sculpture. He chases the idea of the "shortest path" in creating a sculpture, a clear and fast way of expressing herself. As these sculptures are fleeting and temporary, they can only be captured through images or film.

To make a One Minute Sculpture, the viewer has to give up their habits (Wurm includes these instructions in her exhibit). His instructions are written by hand in a cartoon-like style. Either Wurm himself or a volunteer follows the instructions for the sculpture, which is meant to put the body in an absurd, ridiculous-looking relationship with everyday objects.
